I’ve never been one for resolutions but over the past several years, it has become a tradition of mine to choose a guiding word each January. Not just any word, but an important and meaningful word that will help me focus on what I most want to realize within my year. As I’ve carried them with me through my days, each precious word has helped me align my actions with my goals, manifesting a life that is authentically me. It is a powerful practice.
At the start of this year and with the flight of my two oldest babies out of our nest, I found myself looking inward like I hadn’t done in a long time. Wanting to hang on to the past, but needing to move forward and look ahead, I was getting the itch to start fresh and begin again. I got quiet and really listened as one word echoed in my thoughts over and over.
Build. It’s time to start building on all that I have in my heart and on my mind. While fully embracing the here and now, it’s time to build the future that I dream of. I adopted this word with a renewed sense of purpose and the construction quickly followed in all different areas of my life.
Building a home for Life in Focus Studio has been an important part of that construction plan from the beginning. I visualized a home where dreams can unfold and become a reality, both online and in person. A home where all that I capture and create can be together under one roof. A home that will welcome friends with inspiration and beauty. A home that will celebrate life with awareness and gratitude.
A home where magic is found.
This is just the beginning and we have so many more plans, but I love what we’re building and that I get to share it here along the way.
